Polar bears are large predatory mammals that live in the icy North Pole.

They eat fish,ducks,kelp,berries,rodents,and human garbage but their primary prey is seals. Sometimes if food is  scarce they will eat Muskox or reindeer. Occasionally polar bears eat beluga whales and walruses.

Polar bears can move quickly they can run at 40 km per hour for short distances.when diving they can   dive upto 4.5 meters below the surface.They can swim 10 km per hour. Surprisingly polar bears can stand up on their hind feet and walk upright for short distances. They have been known to swim 100km without stopping! When not hunting they are usually resting or sleeping.

Here are some cool facts about their body parts. They have large furry feet and short,sharp, stocky claws give them good traction on ice. Polar bear have a thick layer of fat (More than 10cm thick) keeps the bear warm in cold water. Bears have immensely strong legs for swimming and running also their nostrils close over when under water.

Here are some other facts:The male weighs 350-700 kg.Females weigh about half of that size.Polar bears can live up to 25 years old.
